2005 Delaware Valley Film Festival
Hatboro, PA
TOWNSHIP screened at the Delaware Valley Film Festival on September 10, 2005! What a fun little evening out! It's always great to see films in front of an audience and this audience was particuarly fun because they responded so well to the film! It was a smaller film festival, but sometimes it's more fun that way, because there was such a great personal touch!
And what can we say about the people who organized and ran the festival! They were so incredibly nice, sweet, kind, courteous, and any other adjective that could describe how nice a group of people were. They greeted us with flowers! We have NEVER been to a film festival where we were greeted with flowers!
It was amazing how well the audience, of all ages, responded. They were so respectful and fun loving! Afterwards, graciously greeting all of us and even buying copies of the DVD!
Another highlight was this other group of filmmakers there who made a great short called Paperless. It was so clever and technically sound! These guys knew how to make a great short! But what was most impressive was how nice these guys were! We mingled with them a bit after the festival and it was just such a delight to talk to other filmmakers who have such a great passion, respect, and love for film and their peers. The conversation honestly could've gone for hours if it wasn't going so late into the night!
The awards were great too! We received several certificates for winning Best Director, Best Lead Actress, and of course Best Picture! We received a plaque and even a bottle of wine! How cool is that!
But the best highlight of all was just the incredibly gracious and nice people who ran the festival. Meeting people like the organizers and the filmmakers from Paperless make going to film festivals worth it!
